The CEO of National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr. Sylvester Tetteh, who also doubles as a board member of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) on Thursday morning April 23rd 2020, had the opportunity to appear on Angel TV breakfast show “Angel in the Morning show” with host Kwamina Sam Biney to clarify issues regarding his political career , his current portfolio at NYA ,the Authority’s “#COVID-19 Youth Campaign” recently launched initiative and some phone-in questions viewers brought up. The CEO took turn to set the record straight that he is a staunch politician aiming to clinch the parliamentary seat for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro electoral area on the ticket of the ruling NPP before his recent appointment to NYA as the Chief Executive Officer came out of the blue by Jubilee House. According to the ambitious CEO, mainstream politics and his current portfolio will not conflict or destruct his purpose and concentration on youth development work. Rather, he remained focus and aware he is a household name in his constituency and come any day for Primaries as well as the general elections, he will win by a landslide victory. Mr. Tetteh threw more light on recent COVID-19 Youth Campaign put together by the NYA, which aim at training thousands of volunteered young persons in COVID-19 Preventive measures. These young persons will then spread these preventive tips in their various localities to help government combat this cruel novel viral pandemic. However, he also had the chance to address matters pertaining to registration of youth groups and the delay in issuance of certificates. He expatiated that, his assumption into office has propelled him to conduct snap investigation as to what goes into the formation of various youth groups and ethics that guides them. He proceeded that there are plans far advance to create an online portal to make it easy to access and key in information about activity report as well as youth groups missions and core values. Finally, he touched on issues relating to YEA Exit Fund for prospective beneficiaries and rest assured participants to be patient, and that management are working around the clock to sort them out. In his closing remarks, he admonishes the youth and the general public to wear nose masks anytime they step out. He reiterated the need for the citizenry to observe the safety protocols pertaining to COVID-19 infection religiously and ended the conversation with goodwill messages to his colleagues, staff of NYA, constituency audience and signed off peacefully.
