GES INTERDICTS KNUST SHS PROPRIETRESS FOR NEGLIGENCE OVER STUDENT'S DEATH

The proprietress of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS) has been interdicted following the sudden demise of a student, who was ill and unattended to at the said institution.
The proprietress, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa, is being accused of sheer negligence by her students who protested and vandalised her vehicle.
What Transpired?
According reliable source, Kwadwo Baffoe Donkor reported that the management of KNUST SHS, the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the police on Wednesday morning locked themselves in a meeting over the death of a final year business student of the school.
Richard Leonard Sam passed on hours after he was sent to a medical facility after complaining of stomach ache last Monday, July 6, 2020.
However, a statement from the GES indicates that the Regional Director of Education in the Ashanti Region will take over her duties.
In spite of this, academic activities are expected to proceed at the KNUST Senior Senior School after the student protests.
Personnel from the Ashanti Regional Directorate of the GES have been to the school in a bid to restore calm and order.
Granting an interview to some section of the media after meeting Management of the school, Ashanti Regional Director of the GES, Mary Owusu Achiaw, stressed that investigations has commenced to tackle the issue.
