There is no such thing like a mother’s love. Right from conception, birthed, cuddled, fed, raised and thought life lessons. Indeed, a mother is a first friend, teacher and the guide for a child and therefore it is important to celebrate mothers on this day to acknowledge the unconditional love exhibited to their wards assiduously. Undoubtedly, motherhood is the biggest gamble in the world. It is glorious life force. It is huge, unthinkable and a scary task. It is an act of infinite optimism. Even if there is an absent father, a single mother can toil and moil tirelessly to raise her kids on her own. From good times to the bad times. From stepping into an apron and off to the kitchen to make miracles of dishes for an entire family, to doing dirty laundry. The truth is, no matter how hard it gets, how old we get, how worthy we have become, we will always need our mothers. Not forgetting the countless dawn pep talks. All was to straighten up a wayward child to live right. At the end, mothers were pretty much right every time. Thanks for all the good advice, even if it took a while to get them. During difficult times when we are frazzled, running ragged and think no one appreciates all we do, our indefatigable mothers do care profoundly. For all the sacrifices and the many godly ways mothers showed up for their families. We thank you for the million ways you supported, encouraged, helped, and loved us. It is your day, shimmer like the mother’s rock stars. Wishing mothers another year of wowing the entire planet with their selfless love. A ballad for mothers. Cheers!
