245 GHANAIAN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO BE DEPORTED TOMORROW

The Minister of Information, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in a press conference briefed the media on Friday, May 22nd, 2020, in Accra that some Ghanaian illegal immigrants in Kuwait will be sent home by the Kuwait government.

According to the minister, the deportation is a special request from the government of Kuwait. They will be isolated, quarantined and tested immediately they touchdown.

He also added that they are coming on a chartered flight.

“We have triggered the process to ensure we can receive them, mandatorily quarantine them, and treat them”, Hon. Nkrumah stated.

Further, those who test negative will mandatorily quarantine for 14 days for a second test before they are handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service in line with immigration procedure for handling deportees, he revealed.

Finally, he stressed on the fact that the country's borders remain closed until further notice.
